Hi all - has anyone tried Hemp CBD oil for inflammation?
PMR and Hemp CBD oil: Hi all - has anyone tried... - PMRGCAuk
PMR and Hemp CBD oil
I did try it in capsule form somewhen during my adventures with GCA, can't say it was spectacularly successful 'cos I didn't stick with it.
My daughter keeps her eye out for anything that might help inflammation, as I have arthritis as well, and read up about Hemp tablets from a New Zealand website and suggested I try. I did buy some, but must admit I haven't used them yet, at the time I was on tablets for high blood pressure so thought it best not to. Next time I see GP I might run it past him and get his reaction! If I try them I let you know.

I've taken a tablespoon of hemp oil (from food grade seeds) every day for years. Probably should have 2 tbsp but keep forgetting. Have not tried CBD oil. May do so if can't get off pred. I take the hemp oil because it's supposed to have a very healthy omega 3/omega 6 ratio.
I take hemp oil capsules along with turmeric capsules. Am not in pain at all, just hip stiffness first thing in the morning. Can't say it's definitely any one supplement but it's working for me.
I tried cbd oil in the past but had no benefit at from it so wouldn't recommend. Everyone is different I know, but save your money.
I haven't used CBD/hemp oil because I am fortunate to have access to high-CBD medical marijuana (California, US). I take it almost daily for its many excellent health benefits, and although it seems to help some with breakthrough symptoms, I don't rely on it as far as regulating my Pred dosing. I don't think hemp oil would be contraindicated with PMR, and since it is anti inflammatory might be worth a try.
cctraveler, how do you take it? Do you have to smoke?
No. I use a tincture -- best sublingual (under tongue) but ok to swallow. Prefer not to smoke it. There are also various edible products, but if they have much THC (the component that gets you high) you have to be careful. They'll sneak up on you and stay in the system a long time.
Yes, I'd thought that CBD was completely non-psychotropic but have read recently that a lot of the therapeutic stuff does contain THC, which makes it much less attractive to me. However I seem to be responding very well to Aloe Vera gel, so that may be my key to being able to stay off pred if and when I get to zero. Fingers crossed. ☺
I was thinking that marijuana apparently does the trick so why not hemp oil!
Ditto that I wish the small minded deciders over here would legalise weed for medicinal purposes. It's pkay to ply their vile poisons onto us in the millions, but when it comes to natural products it's no no no! Including homeopathy and naturopathic stuff!
Hemp counter, here I come..
