i have seen a lot of people on this forum talk about "brain fog", while taking prednisone, can some of you elaborate on that, is it just your head, or does your body also feel like lead , limp like, weak ? last couple days ive experienced that kind of feeling, and haven,t changed my dosage

Hi arvine, I seem to go through phases of symptoms that do not seem to bear any relation to my Pred dosage or anything I do. Body like lead, heavy and cumbersome, weakness, unable to open jars or lift shopping, but only sometimes. Brain fog, saying dopey things to family mainly, getting the wrong end of the stick, forgetting I've been told something. Unable to remember actor's names, TV programmes I've seen recently, plots Of films I've seen often.

Lately I've been feeling dizzy if I bend down or turn too fast. It will pass to be replaced by something else, lovely.

Yep, got all that (sometimes) - and also 'brain clear' - nothing going on inside there at all - really weird feeling. I am really starting to believe you simply don't know what you are going to get on a day to day basis. At the moment I am quite pain free - effects of pred not too bad (moderate would be a good descriptor) and fatigue, high/awful - that's PMR for you!

Hi thanks for responding.I have been on a four month course of ferretin .awaitng blood test results to see if all is well now as i was very low.Chronic fatigue still a problem.but the brain fog is really impacting an example would be,the other morning my hubby, who never eats breakfast but is diabetic.felt unwell.so we discussed he should eat some porridge.my mainstay brekkie.made in a jug in microwave.a little later in went into kitchen to make my breakfast.saw the porridge stained jug in the sink and thought i had had my breakfast had no recollection of conversation with hubby and although i felt hungry i thought i had eaten. If he hadnt of reminded me of our conversation i wouldnt of eaten breakfast that day lol.Everyone has to write anything down if its important and it feels like everytime i say something the response is ,you already told me that. Its very difficult to judge whats normal for pred and condition
