I have had a ring pessary for anterior prolapse for 5 years. My GP replaces it 6 monthly but recently I’ve become more anxious about it falling out. I’ve been advised not to replace it myself but GP appointments aren’t always easy to get and I don’t like leaving it out for days.

I have a ring pessary also and a ring pessary you can easily self manage and why my doctor recommends them. Easy to remove and easy to reinsert all by yourself. I can wear it for a few months or remove it as often as i please and take it out at night for sleeping. I take mine out in the shower wash it and put it back in again as necessary. There are Youtube videos on how to do it all by yourself. Your pessary shouldn't fall out if it is the right size for you but if they are too small they are more prone to falling out. But not everyone likes to do this themselves so i guess it is a personal preference if you prefer your doctor to do it for you.
