Bilateral back thigh and leg pain associated with chronic pelvic pain??

Just had a lumbar MRI to make sure none of my chronic pelvic pain was coming from my back. Results were negative. I am having severe bilateral back and leg nerve pain. I have been able to control this with 300 mg of pregabalin, but it doesn’t seem to be working now. Does anyone else have this problem and have you found anything that helps Rocky 68

My sister has bilateral back, leg, and foot pain with her chronic pelvic pain. She also had an MRI of her lumbar spine and there was nothing trapping any nerves there. I can't tell you what to do to ease the pain as I am still trying to find something to help my sister. However, I have read that pudendal neuralgia can cause symptoms similar to sciatica. ( I don't know if that is what is causing your pelvic pain, but it is what I think is causing my sister's pelvic pain.) The only thing that seems to help my sister is pelvic floor stretches that she received to help with her possible pudendal neuralgia.

I'm very sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I just remembered about a condition I was reading about the other day while doing research for my sister. It is called piriformis syndrome. It occurs when the piriformis muscles spasm. (These muscles are located in the pelvis.) Piriformis syndrome can cause symptoms similar to sciatica (i.e. leg pain, foot pain, buttock pain, and in some cases lower back pain.) Pudendal neuralgia can cause piriformis syndrome. I'm sure other things could cause it as well. But, maybe you could talk your doctor about this condition. It might be what's causing your pain.

Also, I am going to include a link to a video of the stretches my sister does. You may already have your own exercises, and won't need this. But, I thought I'd include it anyway.

Thank you for responding. My Dr. has told me I have Periformis Syndrome. I have increased my Pregablin (Lyrica) from 300mg to 500mg. I don’t have as much burning in thighs or leg pain today. Your sister may want to try Pregablin. It is a drug you would want to start at a low dose and should be prescribed by someone who knows correct dosing. I tried Gabapentin and it did nothing. Duloxetine 60mg helps as well. Rocky68
