Best position in bed

New to this thread but am on others for B 12 deficiency and IBS to name 2.

Following on a long history of UTI’s since Bladder Cancer, bowel incontinence with diarrhoea, and recurring thrush I am pretty uncomfortable’down below’.

I saw a lady GP a few weeks ago who confirmed a prolapse and sent me for physio, but having done my pelvic floor exercises since having my children could offer no more.

My GP surgery is only part time and even more difficult to deal with than most these days.

Anyway I am in constant pain and discomfort in that region and am finding it very difficult to pass water especially at night. I wonder if it is due to sleeping position as I feel fit to burst every 45 minutes and have to visit the bathroom only to spend ages only passing a few drops. This is getting really hard to deal with. I have not been told what has prolapsed so have no way to know what Ican do. My sister keeps urging me to go to A E as 111 keeps sending me back to my GP Who at best make me a phone appointment 3 weeks time or mostly just does not both to get back to me.

I have already had to go private to seeboth Gastroenterologist and ENT and as a physically disabled pensioner can’t afford to keep doing this.

A ny help or advice would be greatly appreciated

go to walk in clinic ..( near A&E for us). At eight in the morning .. they start at 8.30 but you will get seen ..

I had help seeing a he told me what it was .. then I tried an acupuncturist who told me it seemed to have started as my job is driving so it’s the sitting moving only one leg on the accelerator that started my sciatica.. so I haven’t spent loads but the Dr and hospital said painkillers and that was that.. osteopath next try.,

Hi. Sorry to hear you're in so much pain. Re the prolapse, I've been seeing a gynaecologist who prescribed HRT cream, which has helped with my bladder prolapse and I no longer struggle to pass urine as I used to. Recurrent infections such as thrush, can also happen as a result of thinning of the tissue in that area because of the decrease in oestrogen after the menopause. The cream helps with this. In my experience GPs are not very knowledgeable about these type of menopausal symptoms. I believe there is an HRT cream called Gina which can be bought in the chemist. I don't know, however, if it's as effective as prescribed creams. If there is a menopause clinic in your area that may be helpful. I hope you find something which helps.

I’m so sorry that you’re having a difficult time getting sorted. I have been prescribed an eostrogen pessary which I use twice a week, it has been a game changer where the utis and bladder prolapse are concerned. Keep trying with your doctor and get a referral to a gynaecologist and/or urologist. In the meantime speak to your pharmacist who can give you some over the counter medication ….. Superdrug online sell Gina pessaries for £24.99 …. Give them a try while you wait

Good luck
