Tight Pelvic Floor Muscles leading to constant urge to urinate, unable to fully empty and spasms.

Hi I’m a 45 year old man. 7 years ago I had a structure removed from my urethra and since then I’ve had niggling pain in the pelvic floor and urethra area. I have what I call ‘flare ups’ and usually get prescribed medication for Prostatitis.

I’ve tried acupuncture, pelvic floor physiotherapy, deep breathing exercises, yoga and pain killers but I still suffer with what has now become chronic pain in the muscles in and around the urethra, a constant urge to pee and my mental health has suffered greatly because of this.

Does anyone have similar experiences of these symptoms or any ideas on medication that can help ease urgency and muscular tightness pain?

You are not alone. I had and occasionally still have pelvic pain. Key for me was learning to relax the muscles around the PNerve. Physical therapy taught me how. This book also helped. A Headache in the Pelvis.
