Male Pelvic Floor Pain and Urinary Urgency

Hello...I had a stricture removed successfully from urethra in 2014. Since then I’ve suffered with a variation of pain in the pelvic floor area. It seems to be worse when I’m sitting for long periods and better in warmer weather and when I’m on my feet. Recently, the issue has become a lot worse. I suffer with really difficult pelvic floor pain, urinary urgency, the constant feeling that I can’t finish and the feeling that I need to go again shortly after. Just wondered if anyone else had been suffering with these kind of symptoms?

I had prostrate reduction surgery last year and suffered for many months until I found a good physical therapist. Even then it took a few sessions to find the right exercises to help me. My problem was/is that my pelvic floor muscles were too tight. I do about 15 to 20 minutes of exercises throughout the day. And more throughout the day. I was suffering intense searing pain in the rectum and the penis. And had the constant urge to go.

Find a good physical therapist; one that understands the male anatomy.

Thanks for the advice...I’m doing stretching, yoga and walking throughout the day but my pelvic floor muscles are still extremely tight and sore. I’m rushing to the loo every 2 hours!!!

There are exercises focused on the pelvic floor which should help. Essentially any of the happy baby type and those that do pudendal flossing. Have you been to a physical therapist.

Yes I’ve been to a male pelvic floor specialist and they stated I had a tight pelvic floor but it seems to be morphing into more with the urinary urgency. If anything I can’t finish, rather than can’t start.
