Hi ! Can some one advise me please? I was fitted with a pessary last December..... think it's an 85 mm as the previous slightly smaller one came straight out. Fitted by a gynaecologist consultant. He has wanted to see me to change it recently but the hospital department was closed due to Covid! He phoned me and said the Drs could change it and I have an appointment tomorrow. I should add that this 85 feels like it's coming down if I've had a tiring day and has come out twice. I've just picked up a prescription and they said they would give me 2 in case I needed to go up a size.... I've just opened the prescription and I have a 90 and 95 but they are much thinner than the one I have in! I can manipulate the one I have ( flexible) but this looks much harder although is slightly flexible ..... ahhhh! Help!

Pessary fitting
Hi, this sounds like the one I have fitted, it lasts for a number of years, but has to be removed and checked every 6 months by the practice nurse. It is less flexible, but does the job so much better. It’s no different having it inserted, butI have to admit a bit uncomfortable when its removed, but not too bad. As far as I’m concerned it’s worth it, because it’s comfortable and does the job well. I’m more active than I have been for a long time, the more flexible rings didn’t work well, this one does. Good luck.
Thanks for this! The whole appointment was actually a lot better than I had anticipated! I was concerned about being referred on to GP rather than the specialist but she was brilliant and even though there's hardly any face to face appointments she treated it as as a consultation and is going to order some different pessaries for me to look at and discuss
