What are symptoms of an entrapped nerve in pelvis?

Hi everyone. I have been in absolute hell for 10 months and my Urogyn is recommending external Trigger Point therapy. She says this might unravel my muscles/might be entrapped nerve. I don't really know what an entrapped nerve should feel like? I have intense nerve pain at my surgical site (lower left) and it is always triggered by movement/weight/pressure/lifting (sometimes it feels like a string is grabbing the LLQ pain and dragging it down vaginally). I've done so many modalities, taking drugs, etc etc. But am curious if anyone has had entrapment, if TP help, or only surgery can help. Also are nerves entrapped in muscles? My pain is very very localized. I can point to it.

Thank you so much.

Yes nerves can be trapped in muscles...and then they spasm...it's is hell...I am with a pelvic floor physical therapist and on muscle relaxers....it's always best to get evaluated with a pt... some people get Botox in there to relax the muscles and my pt does mobilization and nerve gliding to help release the nerve...you can pm me if you want to talk more

Has adhesions been mentioned as a possible cause of pain? Adhesions can present as very similar especially around surgical site. I have bowel bladder, pelvic and abdominal adhesions which causes severe pain, spasms and limited movement around abdominal surgical areas and feels like a pulling dragging pain down vaginal area, it can also trigger severe muscle spasms and nerve pain .Part of my treatment is trigger point therapy for bladder and bowel spasms in pubirectalis and levator muscles and for me i benefit from a moderate short term decrease in pain intensity. I also benefit from visceral massage around surgical scarring which can help manipulate adhesions. Just something to consider, hope you find a treatment that is good for you.
