Endometriosis and pregnancy - Pelvic Pain Suppo...
Endometriosis and pregnancy
Hi Hun, firstly congratulations on your pregnancy. Endometriosis pain usually eases with pregnancy. However, pregnancy hormones can increase all pain in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Also, smear tests are never done if you’re pregnant. I’d advise you to speak to your gp or midwife if you’re concerned though, about the increased pain. I’m sure they can ease your concerns. Paracetamol is also safe to take during pregnancy, not sure if you’ve tried it. Please take care of yourself Hun and love and hugs to you xx
Hi Sask
In the 1st stages of pregnancy lots of ligament stretching takes place. This can be quite painful. I experiences it with period pain at the time I would have been due on monthly, I also got terrible pelvic girdle pain. The bones of the sacroiliac joint loosen to expect a baby coming via there and the pregnancy hormone relaxin is released to act on our bones. Imagine oiling a hinge on a a gate, something like this.
Some women are just very painy in pregnancy with all the body processes going on ti make way for delivering a baby. The bony pelvic area the sacroiliac joint will experience lots of changes leading to back pain too probably.
Hot baths (not too hot!) every single day with your favourite bubble bath and music on really relax you and foetus, I took paracetamol once on 9 months I believe I battled through just as the pain was FOR SOMETHING if you know what I mean. The whole process I enjoyed emensely and took it really at my own pace with plenty of pampering. Light exercise like walking and swimming do wonders, especially the weightlessness swimming brings to a heavy body with pelvic pain.
Good luck with the new arrival!
X
