The mirena coil is a miracle devise, some people feel they don't like it, but it does stop the heavy bleeding in its tracks. I know from painful personal experience.
I was told by my g.p. that hardly any hysterectomy operations take place in this day and age, because of the invention of the coil. All the best.
Thank you, that has been mentioned, I'm just waiting for biopsy first.
Do you know how long biopsy of womb lining takes by any chance please Tinker777? I had one five weeks ago, as of just before Christmas no news yet. Curious but confident it is normal. Had one six years ago and can't remember getting the results, expect it was no news being good news.
Yes, Adenomyosis for about 15 years and each time I've had the coil removed after the five years it lasts, thinking I could manage without it, had the most horrendous heavy bleeding again. Needing to take iron due to inevitable anaemia. Had the camera in womb, could see multiple fibroids too. I asked about ablation but gynecologist said my womb's not suitable so coil got put back in again whilst I was there, having the camera and biopsy. Without the coil I was haemorrhaging badly. Passing out.
No news regarding biopsy so I expect good news. At least bleeding has stopped and at my age I'm nearly old enough for the change so it'll be my last ever coil for a fact.
Good luck with your biopsy and more importantly, hope you have a resolution to your symptoms. Please don't suffer.
In that case then no wonder the NHS is running out of money and that report is from 2012.
