Go to Amazon and order Prelief. Take before meals. No side effects. Follow ic diet on line. No sodas. No acids. Very painful but can be controlled
I agree with Seeious -- but keep in mind every body is different. I suffer from IC as well as pelvic floor myalgia and the diet doesn't always matter. Sometimes I just hurt because I had a stressful day or overdid it. But cutting out some foods have helped somewhat.
That IC diet is very overwhelming, so trying to figure out what works for YOU is important. For me -- high potassium foods like bananas, squash, potatoes etc really trigger flares. And yes, soda, acidic foods like tomatoes and citrus are off my diet as well. Surprisingly though, I can tolerate 'green tomatoes' -- tomatillos, and spicy foods that contain jalapeño or chili peppers. It's really subjective and you have to pay attention to your body. Keeping a diary of what works and what doesn't is vital. (I just use the notes app on my phone) There is no cure, and I'm never feeling 100% -- but I try to take each day as it comes.
Best of luck to you!!

Sweetie if you have been diagnosed. Did your urologist inform you on what you can take. Like Elmiron? There are bladder instillations they can give you. You can go on ic-network.com and there's are plenty of things you can buy. Also if you have a Walgreens or jewels they have prelief to take. You can ask your doctor or nurse for sample Uribel which helps the pain and numb the bladder. If they don have that get Cystex from Walgreens. You can also drink a little Baking soda with warm water. It helps soothe the bladder...Heating pads are good. I have the rice heating pad and prop my legs up. Tylenol helps me. You just really have to google ic and it will give you good answers also ICA.org honey. These are sites that are very helpful and if you are on Facebook. Log in interstitial cystitis and there are plenty ic groups that can help you a lot. I wish you the best love and stay away from acidity foods honey
