Extreme stomach pain during sexual excitement

Hello everyone

I am a 38 year old female. I've had this problem for some years now and it usually happens a couple days before my period starts. In the process of having great sex or after orgasm my stomach starts to hurt. The pain gets worse and worse and is followed by nausea. Sometimes I vomit and the pain gradually comes to a stop. All this will last for about 5 to 10 minutes. When it's all over it's like nothing happened. I am in really in need of some reasons and solutions as to why I have extreme stomach pain during sexual excitement. Please help! Oh I am also a diabetic.

Have you heard of endometriosis, during sexual excitement and orgasm your uterus and vagina spasm.

Endometriosis can cause your uterus to get stuck to your bowel or bladder or nerves which can cause stomach pain after spasms.

The only way to diagnose it and treat it is through laproscopy, I hope that helps.

Hi AmazingG

There are a range of problems that can contribute towards pelvic pain, many of which have nothing to do with endometriosis. Approximately 50% of women who have a laparoscopy for endometriosis by a specialist have a negative result for the disease even if they experience pain before or during their period. In some the cause of pelvic pain has no identifiable reason or it becomes apparent that there are a range of problems. At this stage I would urge you to have an open mind instead of immediately suspecting one particular cause. It might be worth seeing a women's health physiotherapist who can test your pelvic floor muscles as these themselves are very often a source of pelvic pain either alone or as part of a condition generating pain in the pelvis. Pelvic floor dysfunction is capable of generating a lot of pain within the pelvis. I myself have had treatment by a women's health physio privately for this. In my case the cause was due to endometriosis, adenomyosis and painful bladder syndrome/IC. It maybe you have one or more of these conditions or simply have pelvic floor dysfunction which is easily treated. Best of luck and let us know how you have gotten on
