Thanks Judy. I will discuss this with my Gynaecologist. At last it's good to know we have some legitimate guidelines re mesh.

The accent is on "appropriately trained surgeon"; my first surgeon in Bristol was a disaster; but then I had vaginal slings placed by very skillful surgeon and have no problems

Who was your Bristol surgeon? And what is a vaginal sling? Glad to hear all has gone well eventually.

I really suggest you join a face book group called sling the mesh, I would never have mesh put in my body and I don't think you will want to after joining this group. There are so very sad cases from Bristol.

Thanks. I too would never have mesh. Judy has recently issued on here final guidelines on mesh from Europe, which are in favour of no mesh because the amount used to sheer up the pelvic floor is too invasive.

Vaginal slings are narrow pieces of mesh to hold the tissues together.

Not everything is OK, I am incontinent from the STARR. ripped apart a perineal repair that I had previously. I will try to redo it with those slings, to see if it helps the incontinence.
