Vaginosis Help!

I've had vaginosis on and off for 3 years and I can't take it no more. Everytime I go to the doctors they just give me flagyl but it comes back within a week or two. The smell is very bad, I have really no pain or iching or any symptoms just this annoying smell. I had a sti and pid 3 years ago im not sure if that has anything to do with it. It's so embarrasing I've tried a couple home remedies but I don't know what else to do about it I feel like I'm stuck with this for life. Help please. Thankyou..

Hello,

I'm so sorry that must be an awful thing to put up with. are you on the pill or any other hormone treatments?

Oh I was so hoping it was due to a reaction to hormones. I suppose it could be due to a hormonal imbalance, have you got any other symptoms like acne, irregular periods, unwanted hair growth in areas women don't tend to get hair or hair loss?

It might be worth asking the doctor to test your testosterone levels to see if you could be suffering from PCOS. They may send you for a scan as well. It's nothing life threatening or anything like that, but it may be an explanation for things as it can mess up your hormones.

I find that if I go on the pill it will cause an unpleasant odour, it never used to when I was younger and on the pill but for the last few years it's just how my body reacts. I have Endometriosis and PCOS which can cause all sorts of problems with periods etc, so this kind of talk is just normal to people like me.

If your periods are causing a problem, don't put up with it, ask your doctor for help.

Tor666-

I was on the depo because how bad my period was but I stopped taking it about 8 months ago because I want to get pregnant. I want to figure out all these problems first and what's causing this. Thankyou, I'm going to set up an appointment asap.
