Also my Gran was diagnosed 2 years ago with Endometrial cancer and was told November 2013 she is now terminal with months to live, is it important that my doctor knows this?

It's probably not necessary to mention this. It is a good idea to keep a diary of your pain, when it occurs, what triggers it etc for a few weeks and then to take it to show your doctor. If it continues you could ask for an ultrasound scan. Do you take any hormone treatment including the pill ?

It may be worth trying without a gap. Let me know how you get on if you try this

i started taking mercilon in August last year and i have had no bleeding since (i do bleed when i have the gap) i have tried taking no gap and i do not bleed but still get very painful cramps/bloating, i get the cramps and bloating when not on a period as well though.

It's worth a try. There is also a good information page about IBS including diet on our website pelvicpain.org.uk

Many times a food issue goes along with the IBS. For instance chocolate and dairy can set me off. Talk to your doctor about eliminating things from your diet to determine what is the offending food.
