...does anyone on here with pudendal nerve entrapment get any pain relief from duloxetine (Cymbalta) on it's own (not with it being used with anything else) if the answer is yes , at what dosage?
duloxetine?: ...does anyone on here... - Pelvic Pain Suppo...
duloxetine?
I'm afraid I only had a negative reaction to Duloxetine, which I was prescribed for chronic lower abdominal pain following a hysterectomy. It did not help with the pain, but I only took it for 2 days, due to a very negative reaction (basically a massive overdose of noradrenaline): I had complete insomnia, shaking, dilated pupils, blurred vision; I couldn't talk or concentrate on anything, nor sit still. I felt like I'd gone mad, but checking the leaflet that came with the pills, I had all the frequent side effects and almost all of the rare and very rare ones too.
I wasn't warned about any of this. I'm not trying to dissuade you from trying it - with chronic pain it seems different things help different people. But please be aware that it's a very strong drug, and it may not suit you. Perhaps try the lowest possible dose at first to see how you get on.
Good luck.
Emily
thanks for that Emily I feel it may be unsuitable for me then as I do have multi chemical sensitivities and due to bad stomach probs it may be best to avoid ,
This is a difficult one, I know some people like Helen on here who find it helpful and others like you who have very unpleasant side effects. It is very individual which is why we need RCT's to establish how effective it is or not and with whom.
