3 x 250 mg per day.

Can I still take Lansoprazole (acid blockers)?

I take Urso and pantaprozole (for acid) both prescribed by my GP.

Thanks, same drug so should be OK.

You should run this by your GP, since it really isn't a question any of us (unless medically trained and familiar with your history) can answer.

GP useless, signed off prescription without even a request to see me. Sometimes takes weeks to get an appointment. I had to wait over a month for a blood test.

I take the same two meds

Noticed here now, quite a few of you seem to be on prescript antacids, can anyone fill me in?

I never suffered from heartburn until I started Urso Dec 2010 and presumed a side-effect of the tabs being a form of bile acid equivalent. The symptons disappeared after a few mths.

Altho' anyone taking more than one meds at a time should speak to someone with regards to how they could be with them as healthangel has stated, I think these days doctors seem to have it all on computer when writing scripts whether advisable to administer certain drugs when should be used in caution with certain conditions/tablets.

I personally don't deem paracetamol safe for anyone with PBC but has to be a case of something so temporarily if so could be used with caution.

i was already taking the lanzoprazole for hiatus hernia for several years before being diagnosed with PBC Dec 2010

I'm on Omeprazole 20mgs daily and actually was on it before I was diagnosed with PBC as always had a lot of bother with heartburn and indeed when I think back I had an acidy stomach from my late teens so maybe the bile build up has been a problem since way back then.

I also talk an "acid tab" :) prescribed because of possible side effects of steroids and also Urso.

Hi there, I take urso and landsoprazol. I have had a hiatus hernia for over 10 years and Pbc for about a year now. I take my landsoprazol first thing in the morning and then the urso about an hour later. Took a little while to get used to urso as it made me feel a little sick and wobbly at times but found that eating and drinking regularly helped, now I have no probs with it.
