What to take for nauseous

Today is bad nauseous. I believe that I'm at the beginning of week 3 with azathioprine. What can I take

I'm trying to figure out how to use the portal to contact my Dr.

Crackers isn't helping.

Can someone please tell me how they dealt with their nauseous feelings

While taking azathioprine

Jenny, ask your doctor for Zofran.

My daughter has ondansetron for her nauseous but I'm afraid to take anything unless it's approved. I'm sick today. Really sick today. I saw my Primary this morning I was ok. She's calling hiM to ask for relief for my fatigue.

Odansetron is Zofran. Just another name. Call any pharmacy and ask if you can take them together....

I can't do this anymore. I'm not feeling good. But ok

Let them know.... Maybe there's other meds....

The pharmacy said it is ok to take. Thank you. I'm sick today more than any day.

Awe girl I'm sorry.

Feel better Jenny.... I'm taking zofran today too.... the nausea is worse for me than the fatigue as I can sometimes push through that but not the nausea.... bad day 😞

Sorry to hear this Jenny. Rest well. Tomorrow could be better. I'm sending up a prayer for you.

I find it bit easier if I have substantial breakfast when I take them coupled by lot of water if that dosent help I find chewing extra strengh airwaves chewing gum I also wear sea bands anti sickness wristbands

Aww Hidden .

I so feel for you.

In pregnancy, I had extreme nausea, all day each day through to about an hour before the birth. I wanted to stop eating as the thought of eating made me feel sick, but that was actually exacerbating it

Being pregnant with long waited for babies (twins via IVF) I could not/ would not take any meds.

Agree with Pussycat432 sick bands helped me, if in UK, Boots own are a good price, Amazon too, before you manage to get any just using acupressure on that area helps, there is a diagram on this page to show you the point. I used this successfully on my daughter who was always travel sick. Mind over matter or it being hocum, was disproved by doing it to a 2 year old and her saying "Its gone Mummy!"

Eating a good breakfast never stopped the nausea for me but decreased it. Plain foods helped, foods high in Vitamin B6 really made a difference. Bananas seemed to really help. The old wives ginger too I ate ginger biccies before I even raised my head in the morning.

Saying this I was nauseous throughout but decreased it a lot if I ate little and did the pressure points.

Hope you managed some rest last night and today is better.

I use compozine. Do leave home without it. Ever!

I don't take azathioprine but I get nauseous sometime. I use essential oil Digestzen to help. My mom has end stage cancer and she gets nauseous all the time. She told me Digestzen helps. You can take it orally or just rub two drops on the stomach.

Best wishes,

Jane

nothing stopped with the sickness and emptying out the other end at the same time manic stomach cramps too, i contacted my GP and she told me to stop taking them i had bloods done all readings were sky high 3 days after stopping the tablet blood levels had halved, there are other immunosuppressive that may be better for you to try! good luck

I tried azathioprine as first immunosuppressant- that was about 4 years ago. I can't recall exact time scale but it did not suit me at all. With each daily dose the nausea increased. About 2 1/2 weeks in I began vomiting profusely, had high temp, headache, very painful joints (and back, front, belly, feet, hands & wrists). Had other features but that's the gist. So it was stopped and I tried another - mercatopurine. Similar effect, even on a tiny dose, but after only one day. It was ghastly. I'm now on a 3rd one, mycophenolate mofetil (MMF). It's much better, some nausea but not constant, and a weird taste. Certain immunosuppressants just don't suit certain of us. There are other choices, so if it's dreadful you can ask to try a different one.

That's why I told my story. I was totally floored by the other ones. On MMF I can function. Had a busy day, at the clinic first thing, and a few hours in a nearby city with adult sons. Museum, food, chat. Back home now and v tired, and I'll be v tired for a few days, but I coped. I couldn't really leave the house (without a bucket!) on azathioprine.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm ok today. Just late morning fatigue for a while and no nauseous today. Yesterday Tuesday and Wednesday was awful for me. Today just late morning

I used sea bands for nausea caused by another medication for an unrelated condition. I found they worked okay. Bought off amazon quite cheaply so maybe worth a try. But if you have the kind of reaction to azathioprine I had, sea bands won't do the trick!

I am going to stay on it for while to try and figure it out. It seems to be working
