I have found testimonials and tests showing that nasal cleansing (with salty water, for starters at least) can help tremendously with many nose/ breathing/nasal mucosa related problems. It is very simple, cheap and safe.
I can say for allergic rhinitis and all sort of cold/flu related nose problems, that it helps tremendously. I get addicted very easily to nose drops and they don't help for more than 1-2 days. I avoid antihistamines and only get relief with this.
Anybody tried it? Finding it can help with Sjogren's is why I wrote this here. From what I know I would suggest those with such problems to get more information about this and at least try it.

I use Arm & Hammer's Simply Saline Nasal Spray for nasal congestion. I like it because it's nothing but salt and water. I find that it does help, although not as much as a good decongestant (I don't take decongestants or antihistamines anymore though).
Nasal spray or nasal cleansing? Are different things, nasal sprays - you swallow it, nasal cleansing - the solution goes all the way through the sinuses and thus cleans and removes microorganisms, dust, pollen, possibly pus too and other allergens.
i usualy start to get blocked dry nose in the winter, i think because of the central heating. When it gets too bad i use a nasal douche and irrigating salts by Emcur. i notice an improvement within a couple of days. i have to do it first thing in the morning before eating as, if you don't open your mouth wide enough the liquid can go down the back of your throat and it makes me gag. it is worth it though, as it clears our all the blockages that can sometimes lead to headaches and stuffed up feelings.
Thank you, indeed, no tap water. Adding sea salt or Himalaya salt, if you have it there, is just fine, no fancy products needed :). Now and then replacing salt with sodium bicarbonate is also very good.
