Gallbladder

when they were trying to determine what was causing my out of normal labs, They thought it could be my ball bladder. They recommended I have it removed. I did and when they looked at it after removal, they said, “guess that wasn't the problem”. Luckily, I have had no issues living without my gallbladder. It seems like so many people have theirs removed for various reasons and live a normal life. I was later diagnosed with PBC and have lived with it for 30 years.

From what I've read the risk of pancreatic from having your gallbladder removed is about 0.1% - very small. If you are having such pain, then having it removed seems to be the right thing for you. It's your decision. This is a very common surgery now often being done laproscopically. Will you have it done laparoscopically ? Even an article from Mayo Clinic said it is a very common and safe surgery, carrying very little risk. We all know that any type of surgery always carries some risk - no matter how small. Do what's best for you.
Myself and one of my friends developed Bile salt Dioreah after gaul bladder removal. After removal some have more of a problem dealing with fat so have to have a low fat diet. Although BSD is manageable with good diet it occasionally becomes necessary to use a toilet very quickly.
It doesn't affect everyone like this but can, so it's pain versus problems. I chose to get rid of the pain.
Thanks for replying, I'll keep my fingers crossed I don't develop the same .
I do eat a low fat diet, always exercise and have maintained my body weight of 52 kg most of my adult life. But I can experience pain just from walking and not always through food.
