I was diagnosed with PBC in 2019 and have recently found out I’m going through early menopause (I’m 29). Has anyone else gone through this and are you able to still take HRT? I am taking urso and as I couldn’t use hormonal contraception, does anyone know if I can still take hormone replacements when the time comes to needing it?

I have been on the hrt 4 months now, the only thing was , they advised patches instead of the tablets . So , in answer to your question, yes , we can have HRT .
Hello. I have also gone through menopause as a result of pbc. I am not taking anything for it as yet but interesting that other people have seen a link with it as my dr didn’t think it would have been the cause. I am 45 but was convinced it was due to the pbc and changes to systems etc.
Hello. I had a full hysterectomy when I was 31 years young - I’m now 55 and still taking HRT tablets. DX with PBC in 2016. My consultant doesn’t have issues with me taking both HRT and URSO 😊
Oh my goodness, I never knew why I got early menopause, and now I know why as I’ve been diagnosed with PBC. I got early menopause at 39 and I’m 53 now. I’d just met my husband at 39 so I missed out having children, but I’ve learned to be happy now, but I was devastated at the time xx
I’m still waiting to find out if there is another reason why but I believe it to be PBC as I have no family history of it. I have no children either. I wasn’t sure if I wanted children so I guess this now decides it for me! Glad to hear you are happy. I just keep telling myself no matter how sad, angry or hurt I feel, it’s not going to change it and if these are the cards I’ve been dealt with, then so be it xx
