and so the holiday season begins - hope to take down my Fall decorations today. Up with the holiday ones. Bringing up all the totes of 'stuff' is a chore. My plan is to purge some decorations - downsize as it were. We will see how that works out for me!
Anyone else hope to purge some decorations that you've accumulated over time?
While I’m not quite ready to purge, I do have more than I need. Holiday decorating is not one of my strong points
I am determined today to bring up from the basement all the totes with decorations in them. Think I just want to keep things simple this year. Over the years I've gotten rid of some of the 'cutesy' things... I have bought some new floral items to put in such things as a lantern I have, an old kitchen pitcher and old metal shredder. For my kitchen window I bought a really nice wintery valance. Hope to decorate the window sill somehow. Now if It all just happens....
It’s always a plan that I have but even though I take them out of their box and hold them and don’t use them they are so full of memories that I replace them in their boxes💕
With some wooden decorations that are over 35 years old I do much the same as DebatDG9 Golden memories and reminders of people no longer here.
I think going thru decorations can be a time of real reflection. Time in our lives or people that made our lives special.
