Pain Right Side

Hello Everyone,

New here or haven't really interacted much. I was told by my doctor that I have a fatty liver and only followed up with "get on a diet and lose 15-20lbs", that's it. Any tips to cope with the pain? I gave up sugary drinks and starbucks coffee and it helped some, it doesn't hurt too much, but I know it's there. Any advice/help is appreciated!

Thanks,

Peter G

I have found that a warm hot water bottle placed directly over the liver area is soothing.

If you do a search for diet for fatty liver it is also good for PBC. I no longer eat red meat as I found that irritated my liver. Reduce or remove salt from your diet, if you eat processed foods then removing them from the diet will help as well. No sugary drinks like cola. For myself most morning I have porridge, meusli with kefir and milk. Lunches are salads or homemade soups and evening meals varify from homemade vegetarian dishes to a standard meat and two veg style dinner, although the two veg is usually more like 4/5. If you drink keep it to a minimum. Drink lots of water to keep hydrated.

bst wishes
