Blood group

I was wondering if you are prone to PBC or autoimmune diseases If you are a certain blood group

Hi dinny,

I doubt it as my blood type is the most common and I have 3 autoimmune diseases and 1 immune disease closely connected to autoimmune disease. Think it’s more genetic and environmental triggers . In saying all that, I am not a doctor and not researched it.

I too have 3 autoimmune diseases and I have blood group A+ it’s just one of those questions that popped into my head ...... from who knows where 😂😂

I doubt it think it can be genetic.i have a cousin with pbc also.my hep told me its genetic

Hi Dinny, I agree with the previous replies . There does not seem to be a connection - I am Resus Negative B. and also have other autoimune problems. Stay safe.

There is a known genetic component for PBC as well as for a tendency toward autoimmune diseases in general. Whether that genetic predisposition is triggered is believed to be environmental.
