Pain after eating

Hey family it has been a while since I have made a post but I have a question. Do any of you have pain every time you eat? I have pain right below my breast bone in my stomach area not the belly area. It hurts pretty bad so much so that today I’m not eating solid food I decided to go with a meal replacement shake. Is this normal?

I have pbc stage 2 grade 2 with 2 fatty liver spots . Also at my last check up my dr put me on blood pressure meds as mine was staying high and I keep having moderate amounts of microscopic blood in my urine. Anyone else have this also?

Hello Jess, i am also in stage 2. I went to a specialist last week and was not to impressed. She took my blood and my test were all normal. I am happy for this, but i also thought i would get something else done, to make sure this has not advanced. I am always tired, with joint pain, which my PC increased gabitintan to three x day. This makes me loopy, but i will hang in there and try it. . My question to you is how was it they said you are stage 2? Thank you

That’s for your reply. I actually had a liver biopsy done and the pathologist that read the samples is also the person who said it was grade 2 state 2. It was written in my pathology report

I don’t think this is normal. Please have a GI look into it. Hope they can help you.

Sorry this is happening. Maybe an ulcer or heartburn... but you should definitely check in with your dr.

Sorry to hear you are dealing with this. This was happening to me before being diagnosed 2 years ago. It went away once I started on urso. I have also had the microscopic blood in my urine.

I have the same thing even before I was diagnosed with PBC last December. My consultant told me PBC doesn’t give pain like that and not related to PBC, so he prescribed me ‘omeprazole ´ to stop the acid in my stomach. It has help a lot but he is also doing some more test to know the reason why I have extreme pain after eating.

Try talking to your doctor and hope you get better soon.

Yes , this is my only symptom of PBC , I have a sharp stabbing pain as I eat , mine only lasts a few seconds but takes my breath away . I find myself stretching to the left to get relief . I went to the doctor about this pain in 2011 and he thought it maybe gall bladder problems but after all the tests I was diagnosed with PBC. The pain happens when I eat certain foods . mostly meat but strangely I can't take liquid Night Nurse ( flu remedy ) . Doctors don't seem to be worried about the pain and as mine only lasts a few seconds I tend to think of it as my PBC pain now.

This could be a problem with the gall bladder.

Is it in your stomach area under your breast bone to the left or right? What type of pain? Burning? Pressure? Gas like? Etc.? Could be a number of things. Gallbladder pain can sometimes be felt there as well as indigestion and GERD. I would talk to your GI and maybe have an endoscopy to see what’s going on.

I was diagnosed with pbc when I was 21,i am 45 now and still going strong. I do get some pain after eating if the food is too fatty or if I overeat. It can last for hours or at least until the food is processed. I take metoclopramide and this helps, also omperazol. Take care when eating and avoid fat as much as possible 😊 Also I have found that eating small and often helps. For example I do my dinner in 2 small portions. It's a nightmare but we all find a way to cope.... I feel your pain and hope you find ur way to cope as this doesn't go away. Love and light to all 🥰

I no longer have a gallbladder and it’s sharp aching pain as if my muscles are squeezing/ tightening up. I have to stretch and put my right arm above my head to get the pain to ease up. I think a gastroenterologist visit may be in my near future. Thanks everyone it’s nice to know others have this pain also
