Ive had a slightly raised ESR (Erythrocytes Sedimentation Rate) for a while. I queried this with my doctor who said it can rise with age.. and i was only a little above the accepted normal range so he concluded that was the cause in my case. As all my other tests were normal.
It’s a sign of inflammation in the body and can rise for many reasons including some autoimmune diseases, it needs to be looked at in conjunction with your other blood tests for the doctors to determine the cause.
I would keep asking for a better explanation, maybe educate yourself on the test and ask specific questions I find being direct gets a better answer. Labs-online is where I normally look if I’am checking out a test. Hope that helps a little.
