Hello everyone! Every couple of years, always in November my nose gets blocked and I can only breathe through my mouth. Very annoying, cannot sleep well, cannot eat, I sound funny when I talk... Are these antihistamines safe for us? Thank you

I've been taking certirizine for years for hay-fever. I've also been prescribed others for nausea and itching. So sometimes I'm taking 3 different antihistamines (that are used for these different things). My Hepatologist knows about this, not worried at all even now I'm decompensated, and listed for transplant. X

Hi Beatris03

I too suffer with Rhinitis which I know can hit at any moment! I didnt know I had acute Rhinitis until I was diagnosed at the age of 17 by ENT consultant. My liver consultant is aware of my prescribed antihistamines which I now only take when necessary, these are Fexofendine Hydrochoride 120 mg and Mometasone nasal spray which both help with the throat and nasal issues. I've also been known to take other antihistamines for itchy skin side of things due to my liver issue's.

If your suffering with Rhinitis and your concerned about what meds to take , why dont you call 111 for advice if your unable to speak with your GP until Monday?

Hope the above was of some help.

I’ve been taking citrazine for around 10 years

In my case it it almost totally stopped the dreaded itch.
