Moving to Spain soon and would like to know if the treatment for pbc is the same. I was dx with PBC about 3 months ago. Do I still need 2 weekly blood tests? Would like to hear from others who are living in Spain with this condition. Anxious!
Pbc spain: Moving to Spain soon and would... - PBC Foundation
Pbc spain
Hello
I live in Spain, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. I was diagnosed April 2017. I take URSODIOL 500, morning and night. So far so good.
I am Spanisch, I do not know if you are coming thru the Spanisch Social Security. In this case make sure that the doctor will have knowledge of PBC. Bring all your medical records. In case you go to Barcelona the best hepatoligists are there. Not worry, here you will find all your medication and medical support.
If you have any other doubt, contact me.
Best wishes
Thanks for your reply. We have a property in almeria and moved there 18months ago but only recently registered for medical care in spain. I have been receiving treatment in the UK up to now. Will bring all my medical records with me. Hoping to be back in Spain in 2 weeks time😊
Spanishnan, I'm looking forward to hear from you how living in Spain changes how you experience living with PBC in any way that you notice. Best wishes
Will let you know how my treatment in spain progresses. I am sure the Spanish health system is up to date on PBC. I know there is a website for the PBC foundation in spain. Hoping all goes well.
I was meaning how living in a different climate, a different pace of life, a different diet. I met a woman in an oncology clinic having a review of her case. She had been told no more treatment could help her, to get on with doing what she loved, and she moved to Cyprus. When I met her in that London clinic, she said no trace of her cancer could be detected, the doctors were amazed, and she thought it was the sun, sea, diet and leisured way of life that made her better. I know we say PBC cannot be cured, but what we mean is that no one knows how it can be cured. Well done making the decision to move. I'm sure everything you need will be there. Keep us informed please!
Moved to Spain last week and after just one day my itching stopped completely. Maybe it's just a coincidence or is it the warmer weather and not wearing so many clothes!! Just enjoying it and hope it lasts as I have been suffering with the itch for over 12 months. Will keep you posted.
wow! that is wonderful news! I am so happy for you! thank you for letting us know. Good choice. Yes, please do keep us posted!
Spanishnan, don't ask why a good thing happened, just enjoy it!
