I was diagnosed with PBC a year ago. I often have a red rash that looks more like red dots on my face, especially my nose and cheeks. Does anyone else have this? Maybe not related to PBC?

Hi sherpic,
Not sure if anything to do with PBC but yes,i have them. Only started recently, over past couple months, could be medication, i guess,we do take some concoctions lol
Thank you
Is there any chance it could be rosacea? I suffered with this especially during menopause. I now never use a face cream on my nose. Just a thought but maybe worth checking with your doctor.
What you describe sounds like rosacea. My husband has it. Best to check with a dermatologist. Unlikely it is related to PBC.
Yes it’s related as far as I know. I have it on my arms my legs and most recent my sides of face. Looks like red freckles i didn’t have it before but I’ve been diagnosed coming up to five years. I was on urso but now my body doesn’t like it.
We are fellow sufferers of PBC, we are not trained in diagnosis and all our journeys will be as different as our symptoms.
I think I’d advise the same as I always do, if it’s a new symptom that has not been evaluated by your doctor, you do need to get the doctor to look at it. That way if it’s PBC related it can be put in your notes, it may well be something treatable.
Rashes can appear with other illnesses and until you have this looked at you won’t know for sure, lupus and rosacea can both have a rash across the nose and cheeks, please get this looked at.
Could be Groves autoimmune disease. Red dots on torso and face.
Have a rheumatologist do a blood test to rule out scleroderma; another autoimmune disease.
