Does it matter what time of the day I take my medication?

Hi.

I’m on urso and ocaliva. I started a year ago for not responding to urso. In the beginning I gradually increased ocaliva dose and had no symptoms.

A few months ago I developed the itch people talk about. Nightmare!

I now have been taking my ocaliva at night instead of the morning and my itch has reduced greatly. Is this coincidence?? I was told my my consultant to take ocaliva in the morning and urso at night. Does it matter when it’s taken?

I also work shifts and can be night shift every 2nd week so eating pattern is different these weeks also. X

When I had a question over taking medication I spoke to the local pharmacist who was very helpful. Also on the first dispense of Rifampicin (for the itch) the pharmacist at the hospital went through what it was for and how best to take it, they were very helpful and kind. I have no personal experience of Ocaliva so am not best placed to help here however hopefully someone will come along soon and be of more help.
