Hi everyone, a couple of weeks ago I posted saying I was feeling frustrated that my numbers had gone up and thought it might be linked to having stopped my herbal tincture. Well I had another blood test and after just three weeks back on my herbs my numbers have started to drop slightly. So I’m over the moon about that. It may be coincidental but nevertheless I’m sticking with my herbs. I’ve also just been on holiday and forgotten to take my Urso all week...and I’ve felt so normal. No itching, hardly any hot flushes. So I wonder if the Urso actually makes me feel rubbish? I’m going to talk to the dr about whether to try an experiment to see if the herbal tincture alone can lower my numbers...as I’m not convinced the Urso is doing me any good. We’ll see how it goes, but I definitely think the herbs are helping me😀

Herbal tincture and LFTs update
Hi, sorry you’ve been feeling a bit rubbish - Urso can apparently make some people itch. But did your doctor check in your first year of taking it whether you’re a responder? This is recommended best practice, and should inform your future treatment.
Regarding herbs, I know milk thistle has been shown to benefit the liver in some conditions but I don’t think there’s clear evidence yet in the case of PBC. I hope you and your doctor are able to get a clearer picture soon so that you can plan your best treatment options together. Best wishes
Hi yes Ursofalk is not good for some I took it for 17 years and last two years weren’t good bad itching which wasn’t responding to all creams known to help and bad symptoms. Stoped since January and never felt better however my blood test is worse than when I was on Ursofalk but I will never go back and use it even if my life was on the line here! I pray that medication works for the rest but if you feel it’s not good for you please discuss it first with your doctor.
May I ask what herbal tinctures you were using?
