Diarrhea

I have been having diarrhea for about a week. Diagnosed 2 years ago and on Urso since diagnosed with no issues. Seems everything I eat just goes right through me.... ask my doc by message and of course his nurse answered but did not seem concerned..... could this mean I am worsening? 😢

I don't think you are getting worse...I bet it's something else. It's probably some kind of a "bug".

Hugs!.

Reason being, I have never heard anybody say that diarrhea was one of the signs that they were getting worse. You are doing good! I hope you feel better soon, my friend. ❤❤

Did the nurse suggest anything for the diarrhoea? Here in the UK Immodium is available to help but you may like to ask the Pharmacist or your surgery before taking anything. If you have eaten out or used public conveniences recently (where unfortunately people's hand hygiene is not always good) you may have picked up a bug and if it is it would be best to avoid any dairy produce for a couple of days to give yourself a chance to improve.

You would have to have your blood tested for the doctor to guage whether your PBC is worsening. Hope you are soon on the mend, let us know how you get on.

best wishes

I wouldn't suggest imodium though, especially considering the cause is unknown. Using it and not realizing you have a bacterial infection can cause a ton of issues.

Though, I doubt it's a bug or something. Probably something closer to IBS, since it tends to accompany other problems

I have had a similar episodie 2 weeks ago, more cramps than diahrrea. I had omeprazol at nights

for a few days and everything settles down.

Do not worry too much, this illness is a resistance battle, some days good, some days not so good.

Hope my commentary will help.

Feel well soon

Ty and yes it helped.... sometimes you can get bogged down in the bad part when feeling so bad

I was the same. GP said it was part of PBC but eventually I tried cutting gluten and it all stopped. It turned out to be Coeliac Disease which is another autoimmune condition. I am now gluten free and feeling good. CD is under diagnosed and often put down to IBS.
