Tummy trouble
Sorry to hear you are having problems with your tummy. I had a very similar process done and was really surprised that I do not have the proper balance to digest foods well. So, I was told to use a really good probiotic and digestive enzymes. My first reaction was, WOW! I just spent a large sum of $$$ on a test that tells me to do what most magazines do! Neither products will hurt you, only help. I have found that it does not pay to buy cheap ones, but rather to invest in a better product. Lots out there, so do your research to find what you can that fits your budget. Hope the people doing the tests have some recommendations for you.
Best of luck
Hi mrspeffer, would you mind sharing the enzyme and probiotic you use? Does yours have bile salt/bile acid in it?
Thanks,
Jane
Oh course...I use MRM DIGEST-ALL enzymes. I can only take one and I do that with a complicated meal. The probiotic i use is UNITED PROBIOTICS. That is strictly an internet deal. It was developed by a top G.I. doc who is associated with Mayo clinic. I find that the use of these two products makes a huge difference in my life....Micheline
Sorry...about the bile acid, not sure, but do not think that is part of it
Thanks, Micheline. I will look them up and try it out.
I am currently taking VSL #3 which is recommended by my GI doctor. GB assist which is, enzyme, betaine HCI and ox bile combo. I am still constipated if I don't take Magnesium Citrate. I think I am going to switch the supplement and see if it makes a difference.

The products i mentioned do help with bowel regularity. Do you eat sugar and carbs? Could be a candida overload. My husband, who does not have PBC has tummy issues and a candida overload right now. He is using HealthForce intestinal cleanser to assist with the constipation, and just stranded taking Oil of Oregano capsules for the candida. Both are resulting in a favorable fashion. I've used the Healthforce product in the past, and it really works well. I have to really watch my candida loving foods or I get into real trouble. Feel better soon
Hello I'm the opposite , some days I can go about 18 times
It's exhausting . I've had colonoscopy . A few polops removed . But still can be troublesome .
I am gluten free and somewhat dairy free. (I ate about one ounce of cheese per week). I may take a couple of bites of dessert on special occasion. I do eat 3 servings of fruits daily. I had candida overload 3 years ago but my symptoms were diarrhea and gastritis at the time. Very strange. The doc said I had IBS. He put me on nystatin for 60 days. I did not repeat the candida test because it costs $450. Too much for my curiosity.
What test is it called? My doctor never order it for me. Does insurance cover this test?
Thanks,
Jane
The Heidelberg gastric test. No insurance. Went to a Naturopathic doctor. Cost me $400. Should have just followed research as the recommendations are the same. I used to have the same problem with many movements daily. Digestive enzymes and probiotic helped restore me to 3 in the morning and sometimes after a meal. Are you eating animal products? I had to go vegan to survive. Animal products give me alternating constipation and diarrhea
I thought Heidelberg test has to be done by GI doctor. Don’t they hook something to your stomach using endoscopy procedure? Then that capsule on the hook transmit the Ph level to a external device. I got scared of the ‘Hook’ so never went for it.
I like the idea of knowing the Ph level to know if I have too much stomach acid or too little. But the procedure sounds gruesome.
This was done with radio frequency. I took the capsule then held a transmitter to my stomach during the test. I think it was about a 30 minute procedure. Are you in the US?
Yes. I am in Georgia. The procedure I was talking about takes a couple of days. The capsule supposed to be released on its own and expelled they bowel.
Did your test show deficiency in stomach acid? The theory is that we produce less stomach acid as we age so we need add betaine HcI supplement. However for people who suffers gastritis or ulcers, doctor’s often prescribe acid blocker. Unless we know we produce too much stomach acid, we should not take acid blocker.
I had this done I'm in the uk
Yes..it showed I do not produce enough stomach acid, as well as, when what times it is produced. Just so you know, I have little trust in Medical Doctors or their "fix" to problems
Agreed.
It is hard to find a good functional doctors though.
Have a blessed day,
Jane
