What do you all do to help this? I’m ok in the morning, but as the day goes on, my tummy protrudes and is hard. Darn liver! I don’t eat gluten or sugar. I stay away from nightshades, most foods that cause inflammation. Any other suggestions?

Protruding tummy?
Hi, so glad someone brought this up! I don't stay away from gluten and unhealthy things because I need my life to be enjoyable (but I don't drink etc - very healthy basic sort of living just not very good with sticking to a particular diet). But my tummy is so different from the way it was before I started having symptoms! Mine is as you described it.... What to do? All I know is that during the few periods I have when I'm better, I am not as swollen and hard and bothered by protrusion. Also it's easier to eat and be healthy and excersise. I'd love to hear from someone who has an idea of how to deal with this.
Thank you for bringing this up,
J
I have done a lot of research on AIP, the Wall protocol, all kinds of things. I’m hesitant to give up gluten but I try to be sensible about what I eat and consuming far more fruits and Vegs than I used to. To your question, I have almost completely cut out dairy - and I no longer have the daily stomach pains I barely noticed I had. No more bloating unless I have dairy. It could be just me but sharing in case it’s helpful
I had the bloating, but for me it was diagnosed as IBS. I did the fodmap diet with a dietitian and I found wheat, dairy and sorbitol (in some fruits and artificial sweetener) were my irritants. I rarely bloat now. Now I don't eat chocolate I' lost some weight as well an added bonus.
Hi Stephanellie,
Maybe research into pre (GOS / FOS / Inulin) and probiotics - they may help.

I try to eat & drink some every day including live natural yoghurt and Kefir.
Kefir is amazing - I was very skeptical at first but now am a huge fan of the stuff. You can make your own or buy it - doesn't have to be based on cow's milk, you can get it in all sorts of forms: coconut milk, goat's milk, green smoothie, even a fizzy pop type drink (which I hate!). Maybe try several different ones to see which type you like. Can even get baked versions that taste yummy.
(2 good Kefir manufacturers in the UK are Bio-Tiful Dairy and Rhythm and another good pre-biotic manufacturer is Bimuno)
My niece calls it my alien! lol
have they checked for ascites... fluid which collects in the abdomen with liver cirrhosis... not everyone gets this though. cazer.
