Yup! I have lichen planus. It is on the long list of autoimmune conditions that can go alongside PBC. Mine is in my mouth and was discovered by my dentist. I had to have a biopsy to rule out mouth cancer, so the diagnosis was actually a bit of a relief. Mind you, I sometimes feel that if I am diagnosed with just one more condition I’ll throw myself under a bus! 😉

Yes Me too - PBC, Sjogrens, and soft bones, I was told I had thrush in my mouth, but also in the vagina - however it didn't clear up so, Ive been attending the hospital about Lichen planus and the Dermotologist says that what I have comes under the umbrella of Lichen Planus. But, interestingly I had a big tooth out lately and had to have an anti-biotic. My 'lichen Planus' cleared up and the rough skin on my forearms went back to normal - this tells me that maybe I have some kind of infection. I don't want it to come back so I will be seeing my doctor very soon. Hope this helps, Kandiepat

forgot to say I had a biopsy of the vagina, which ruled out cancer too. Kandiepat

Hi , I have lichen scelrosis which is linked to lichen planus. This was diagnosed by biopsy of vagina so not pleasant!! Mine was diagnosed a year before I was diagnosed with pbc. Life is a joy. All we can do is follow doctors advice and get through . I'm so tired I've decided to take early retirement and intend to enjoy life.

Hi sophie666. I have PBC. Sjogren syndrome and also oral lichen planus which was picked up by Dentist and I had a biopsy of inside my cheek. It doesn’t give me any problems. I have to use a toothpaste that doesn’t contain SLS. I USE SDNDODYNE Pro enamel. SLS is an industrial foaming agent that is in most toothpastes. The most problems I have are due to dry eyes and mouth. Take care xxx

My wife was diagnosed with Parkinsons after 4 years told it's PSP, for years she has suffered with her mouth. She gets tingling and pins and needles effect. She was told yesterday she had Lichen Planus. My wife also has dry eyes and mouth she's found ora nurse toothpaste best for her. The consultant has prescribed a mouthwash for her to use. My wife declined the offer of a biopsy.
