Pbc and swelling

I have pbc diagnosed in 2009 and was told me that I had scarring.about how long does it take to have liver swelling

I don’t have that answer, but there are members here I feel sure may have an seers. Is your scarring actually in the liver or bile ducts only?

I am not sure it is easy to answer this as everyone seems to be different and yet the same.

Hi I was dx in 2012 stage 3 to 4. My liver has some scaring no swelling at mo. Having scans every 6 months. Think everyone different

diagnosed in 2016 very little scaring , but my liver is enlarged and recent MRI showed enlarged more, everyone is different I don't think there is an answer to exactly how long before swelling .

As I was informed at PBC diagnosis back in late 2010, our bile ducts are under attack and this is what causes the liver to start becoming inflamed. I think it is after a certain amount of time that scarring then apears on the liver as the liver in the early days of PBC can start to rejuvenate until a certain point where I expect bile ducts have started to vanish. It is the bile that causes the damage as it is apparently the most toxic substance in our body.
