Sharp RUQ when rolling over from left side to right in bed

Hello,

Does anyone else experience a sharp, stabbing pain in the epigastric to RUQ region up high underneath ribs when rolling from left side to right side in bed? I was recently diagnosed with PBC and am awaiting biopsy. I am having so much trouble getting appointments and answers. A referral issue held me up months after getting the positive anti mitochondrial antibodies back and I am so scared. How many years before this progresses to liver failure? I'm already 61 and no telling how long I have had it before being tested.

Thank you.

rlrick...I’ve not experienced that so far. I, like many others, have an ache on right side but not every day. There’s one thing I, as we all do or will do in time, accept that we cannot get rid of PBC. I have been on emotional roller coaster since diagnosis. After so much worry & stress & tears, I’m coming off that roller coaster & getting back on the Ferris wheel & slow down my mind & hopefully I can gain the peace back. I feel there may be plenty more emotional turmoil in the future so I’ve decided to try & make the best of each day while I still have no symptoms other than little fatigue. My best to you🤗

Hi rlrick

Have you joined the pbc foundation? It’s free to join and will help explain everything in simple terms. Best to stay away from google - it’ll just scare you and it’s often outdated.

Not everyone goes on to have cirrhosis - they say we are more likely to die with pbc than from it. I used to get ruq pain at night and found it difficult to get comfortable. But it’s improved since improving my diet and cutting out alcohol. I usually only get it now if I eat something high in fat - haven’t cut out the odd treat now and again.

Oh and try not to stress it makes the symptoms worse. This is a great place for help and support.

Yes I have. What stage are you

It's a symptom -unexplained as far as I can tell -but not uncommon It's a hell of a lot to get used to once you know the ressons for the discomforts of PBC....
