Thanks to all those who wished me well. I got my report today. F2, and low end I might add. Dr said mild to moderate scarring. No concerns. Continue monitoring 😊

Gwillistexas,

Don't you find it interesting that your ultrasound didn't pick up what your fibroscan did? πŸ‘

I'm hoping to have a fibroscan in November. My ultrasound last Monday came back fine but then the technician told me ultrasound only picks up cysts or tumors.... not fibrosis. So I'm getting a fibroscan too.

I have been reading a lot on fibroscan. It was developed in Paris, France. From all info, it is gaining momentum vs biopsy. It apparently gives much better stage diagnosis. I'm with you, I don't clearly understand all info gained from ultrasound. 😊

Gwillistexas,

Well, the insurance paid the hospital $2,000 approx (more) for that ultrasound, and for what?? It didn't help one bit in looking for fibrosis which is what I had it for! Makes me mad. A Fibroscan is what I needed. Makes me wonder about my hepatologist too.

So glad you got your results and that's over with πŸ‘keep taking care of yourself ❀

My ultrasound was done at Open MRI, a lot cheaper than hospital. πŸ‘

Hi. Without wanting to frighten anyone, people with PBC are slightly more at risk of getting liver cancer. So actually it's great that you got an ultrasound! I myself have 8 benign tumours picked up & now monitored via ultrasound. My philosophy is take all the tests you're offered! I think that docs use all the results to build an overall picture.

Ktltel...in the UK, fibroscan can reduced the need for so many biopsies. I believe it is a great thingπŸ˜‰

Hopefully I won't ever have to have another biopsy.

Thank you. I'm still trying to absorb it all but I'm happy that I'm no further along with scarring. 😊
