Lipase and amylase
Hi Sachin1234
Was your blood test fasting? Lipemic is a surplus of fats in the blood which may be caused by diet or it can be caused by certain medications such as tamoxifen, beta blockers etc.
I once had a blood test and doctor told me that I should not have eaten red meat the night before the blood test - it would have been better if she had given guidelines before the test!
"High triglycerides can be controlled by making lifestyle changes such as losing weight, limiting dietary fats and sugars, becoming more active, quitting smoking and limiting alcohol intake," states WebMD.
Ask your doctor if you are on any medication which may cause the elevated levels. Or if it is diet related then perhaps an adjustment to your diet and an increase in exercise if you are able may help.
best wishes
Thank you..I don't take know of the medication and my TG was normal but my draw was non fasting..I'm more worried about my pancreas since my lipase and amylase going up..
Do you have PBC? I'm surprised you are not taking Urso if you do have it.
I would go back and ask the GP for more information and explain why you are worried.
I do take urso gritty.. I'm taking urso since I was diagnosed in 2015.. it's been couple of blood tests I notice my pancreatic enzymes were running high so I was little worried.. I will ask my doc in my next visit for sure
I am no doc but I would ask about your concerns about something going on with your pancreas, but also ask if your pancreas is ok, then are your kidneys clearing these enzymes from you body ok. Sometimes when my liver is not doing its proper job it places more stress on my kidneys. It is a remote possibility. So don't overly concern yourself, but it might be worth asking if you are clearing the enzymes ok.
I have elevated lipase and Amylase, as well as CA 19-9. I was worried about my pancreas as well. Lipase is double the normal range. Amylase and CA 19-9 fluctuates but just slightly over the normal. My doctors don't seem to be overly concerned, just monitoring every 6 month.
I will be interested in what your doctor say.
