Anyone have sphincter of oddi dysfunction and pbc? Has it caused confusion in your diagnosis?

SOD and PBC
My liver doctor mentioned that I might have it due to all the belly pain I have but I think it's the PBC, I was never tested for the SOD and will look into it if I get the severe pain again. Were you tested for it yet? What test did they do to diagnose it? Do you have PBC also?
SOD causes quite severe pain and shows as a dilated bile duct and deranged LFTs with many people (me included)
Yes I also have PBC. But because I have SOD it's hard to be sure what's causing what symptoms
I have severe pain on and off and my liver doctor says that it's not very common to have severe pain in early stage PBC like I have so she mentioned SOD when I read about it it does sound like it, what treatment are you on for SOD?
Two months ago I had another sphincterotomy. It's been 15 years since the last one. I had sludge in bile duct. There isn't any treatment really for SOD apart from maybe a sphincterotomy if you need one and pain killers. I used to live on buscopan and panadole but now with pbc and sjorgins I've had to cut back on them. Buscopan makes eyes and mouth even dryer. Have to watch what I eat, as little fat as possible and small meals.
I do also get quite bad "liver' pain and so does my mum and sister, they both have pbc too. Sod pain feels like you're in a vice in a circle around your upper abdomen, it can make you feel like you imagine what a heart attack would feel like. It can also be central abdominal pain which feels like it boring through into your back. Also fatty food can make you feel sick. I've had sod for over 15 years.
