I have PBC and 8 (!) hemangiomas in my liver - anyone else with plenty of hemangiomas? Is it possible that there is some kind of a connection between these two things?

Liver hemangiomas and PBC
Hi there. And I thought I was the only one! I too have PBC and both haemangiomas and FNHs (Focal nodular hyperplasia) - 8 in total too! It is a lot to take in but am pretty sure my consultant said there was no connection. Very happy to hear others' feedback on this though. Mine were picked up during an ultrasound and followed up by an MRI & a CT scan. I'm very lucky in that my consultant sent my imagery off to another specialist for a second opinion. He agreed that "on the balance of probabilities" these were benign haemangiomas & FNHs. Obviously the only way to know for sure is to do a biopsy but this is not advised given they are very vascular and would likely bleed considerably. I've been advised they should be re-scanned every 2-3 years to check for any changes. Again I'm very lucky because I'm actually going to be checked annually and am due for my next ultrasound on 20 October. I will keep you posted & I would love to hear how you get on also. Incidentally I had my spleen removed as a teenager but again told they don't believe there is any connection to these or to PBC. Keep in touch & best of luck.
I have 2 hemangiomas and polys in my gallbladder. These were discovered with a ultra sound before PBC discovered. When i went to see specialist after i thought I'd gone to discuss this. Only to be then told i had chronic autoimmune liver disease PBC. Not the best day. But im over it now and getting on with it. These were never mentioned again and i dont see him again fir 2 years. Im very early stage of the disease 😊
