It will be interesting to see how the insurance companies deal with the new name. Will it bring the cost down? or will they just carry on with the same price structure. Would be interesting to hear if anyone has spoken to any insurance companies regarding the name change.

I had this conversation with my insurance folk recently and they were great. I use Nationwide Bank.

Casapino,

Did they change the name? I haven't heard anything.

Yes the name has changed to Primary Biliary Cholangitis. If you use FB you can find reference to this on the PBC page and PBCers Org. Page.

I recently applied for travel insurance to several companies online and none of them had heard of Primary Billiary cholangitis, so are still quoting for the previous name. The cheapes quote we got was for £270 and some were up to £500 for 11 nights in Majorca. My Husband and I are both in our seventies so this probably contributed to the high premium, but I do think that because of this condition they are very reluctant to insure us.
