Spent most of the weekend looking for travel insurance and managed to get a single trip for just under 200£ . Still a rip off and no one will do an annual one that I contacted. Rang up and spoke to companies and guess what PBC has not got a name change so still classed as Cirrosis.

Lots of people have suggested world first had a quick look on line for a single trip family of 3 in August £63 just need to look into the small print now.
Hello Goldsworthyhelen.
Regardless of this name change of PBC it will still be the same. Personally I do not think we can have it all ways. PBC can become cirrhosis in some cases.
Insurers may or may not decide to 'downgrade' PBC for travel insurance but looking at it another way, if it is I wonder how it might affect someone wanting to put in a claim for a disability benefit? (No I've not claimed any benefit and been diagnosed with PBC for over 5 years now but I do take notice of what others say as in future I might not know myself.)
I posted on here in the last week and there is one insurance company if you are in the UK that state on tv advert that they will insure people with health conditions. I am sure it was Staysure. You could also check out Liver North, they put a list on their site with insurers who state they are willing to insure people with PBC.
Hi I'm going to Cyprus in September and I used puffin insurance.com I included Pbc still cirrhosis on there. I paid around £50 for 11days. I have thyroid and migraines, diabetes added too.
Hope this helps.

I got a years insurance from m and s for £70 ish. Can't remember exactly. I stated all illnesses but they are not covered. When I book insurance I always ask specialist if they're are any points ie. Jaundice to declare or am I "stable" and if he's ok I don't pay cover for them as way higher. Plus hols/breaks this year are Europe and UK. When I went to Canada I paid more for full cover.
I have aih/pbc/Sjogrens and crest.
I got stay sure for the year think it was £223
Saga did it for me with the name change for £99 for a 2 week trip to the US.
We got joint insurance from traveltimeinsurance.co.uk for a trip to Majorca for 12 days cost was around £65. Hubby has couple of pre-existing medical conditions too!
Thanks everyone. I cancelled the expensive one and with your help I'm shopping around and some reasonable priced quotes out there.
Is it wrong that I don't even declare I have it?
Try insurancewith.com - I declared everything and a joint one with my husband who declared heart and high blood pressure problems came to less than £40 for a single trip.
I have just come back from a 2 week holiday in Majorca and used World First travel it was around £54 for myself and my husband. Debbiem if you don't declare a medical condition and you require medical care abroad for any reason your insurance will be invalidated.
I also found insurance with.com the best by far. I have pbc and had a heart attack with stents fitted.Hubby has high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I went with Saga last year but saved £75 changing to insurance with. As nomorepies said no point taking out any insurance if you don't declare something, as they wouldn't pay out for any claim.
