I am wondering why I am still on ursofalk if my AMA test showed negative recently.

Hello.

I have just seen this other post as you posted another one on AMAs and realised that I have asked a question about whether you are on urso. I see now that you are.

Are you symptomatic with taking urso? If so then you will probably be kept on it.

I have read previously that one can show a negative result for AMAs but can't say if it is just a temporary state. I have heard that some with PBC can get to a state where their PBC seems suspended but there are no guarantees whether it will continue like that or start to progress again.

I have read that some patients who have been diagnosed with PBC and have no symptons (ie itching, fatigue) and also have normal LFTs are often not started on urso but monitored LFTs-wise for any changes that could start to take place.

I take it that you have abnormal LFTs? If so that is why you were more than liekly started on urso if you have symptons.

Hi Batatis

Just to say that I have been on Urso for around 20 years and blood results can vary amazingly! Keep taking it unless your consultant tells you that you definitely don't need it!

Not what you're looking for?
