Had no problem after my biopsy so I would have a word with your GP.

Hello sophie666.

I've not had a liver biopsy (diagnosed due to symptons, abnormal LFTs and positively 'high titre' of AMAs here in the UK), nor do I want one (as being PBC diagnosed it won't alter any treatment).

I did read about biopsies prior to being diagnosed as this would have been the next option to explore had the AMAs not proved anything back in 2010. Apparently some patients experience a sudden pain at needle entry to the liver in their right shoulder. There is a nerve running that way.

Doesn't sound like pain in your right groin is anything to do with liver biopsy and it would be wise in your current situation to seek a doctor's advice.

Hi peridot thanks for your reply I was diagnosed in march this year and the reason for a biopsy is because doc suspects my liver is more damaged than first thought I haven't had results yet I don't know why I have pain in my groin but it runs down my right leg I will ring docs to see if this is anything to do with pbc xx

I dint think that's anything yo do with yr biopsy after 2 weeks but if it's not normal for you get it checked out ASAP with yr dr. A&E or walk in centre. Have you been very inactive after your biopsy? Is it just yr ankle that's swollen? Or your calf? It needs to get checked out

If you are quite immobile you are at risk of a blood clot in the legs....if you ve had this pain before then it's probably not that but you need to get it checked out. Then you can stop wasting energy worrying about it. Good luck with it I hope it goes soon. It's easy to blame everything on your PBC but it's probably not related at all! I was sore for a couple of weeks after my biopsy but it was easing daily rather than getting worse. Ring your dr. For advice or get down to A&E. Good luck x

I had a strongly positive AMA test in January 2012 and April 2012. I had a live biopsy and was told that I have fatty liver disease.

I just had blood work done recently and my AMA is no longer positive. How is this possible?
