Never again I hope..... horrible experience. But only had 1 in 3.5 years and that was only because my platelet count was a fraction low, so checking for varices.

Take all the meds they offer you and then I am sure it will not be so bad.

I was told by my consultant every three to four years. I had one last year and I never do them without sedation. However, if your bloods aren't ok they check more often to check for varizes. Well, that's one of the reasons why they do them in the first place.

It's better than dying from something which was treatable if it had been discovered by Endoscopy. I can't see that it would be better to bleed to death from a ruptured varice or to have terminal cancer because it wasn't discovered.

Dx'd last year, I've never had an endoscopy. My gastro thought about scoping me because I was having issues swallowing and felt pressure in my upper abdominal area, but the issues were resolved with medication (Omneprazole).

I have to have one done next month. They feel I have either celiac or IBS. He also mention ulcer. I have a clotting disorder APS and PBC. I need to know what is going on and my gastro doc said he needs to take a look. My other doctors are aware so they can watch my blood. A little concern. Thanks

You can actually have a blood test for coeliac sprue but maybe certain ones are inconclusive. Mine came back negative in 2010, the year of diagnose.

I've had one so far, and have been told I shall be having another this year - so, going on that, every three years. Same with bone scan - second one due this year.

I haven't had on at all. Does this mean that I can expect to have one at some time as up until now it hasn't been mentioned to me.

Diagnosed with PBC in 2006 and had 2, waiting for appointment for 3rd, 1st with sedation, quick and painless, 2nd no sedation, I will be asking for sedation for the 3rd!

I have never had a Fibro Scan, should I be asking for one?
