Anyone here have a folate defiency from taking agressive b12 injections?

No .I was on EOD b12 Injections for 5+ months .
I initially took 400mcg folic acid as folate was low .
After 3 m on next blood test reduced this as above range used .
Next blood test top' in range .'
My daughter had 5mg daily of folic acid for 4 weeks i think as was deficient at the start .
Still needs 400mcg daily of folic acid to stay in range.
She eats far more kale and green leafy veg than me .
We are all so different.
Best to go by blood tests and raise dietary intake and supplement when necessary .
Are you deficient then?
I never had a confirmed deficiency, but after a few weeks of alternate day injections, i became ill again, then picked up again when i topped up my folate. No idea whether i was deficient (gp didn't check), but the timeline fitted.
I collapsed and was blue lighted into hospital & found to have very low B12 and folate. The consultant who treated me by infusing B12 & folate intravenously, told me to have B12 injections for life together with 5mg. folic acid daily. GP insisted I reduced to half a 5mg. folic acid every other day and that caused me problems so I took 5mg.folic acid daily. I dropped down to 5mg. every other day when I had access to lots of dark green vegetables & as I cannot get enough of these just now I have returned to 5mg. daily.
How long have you been having injections? B12 and folate work together so of course once your body has B12 it will start up the mechanical processes you need to heal, then folate will be used, reducing how much you have stored. People on injections take folic acid tablets or other alternative. You also need to keep an eye on your iron (ferritin) levels. 'Reversing out symptoms' are normal within the first stages of treatment, how long that will last depends on how long you were deficient for and how much damage your body received.
I have been injectiong twice a week for 5months. Folate is within range but am wonderng if I should be taking the supplement.
Hm, personally I would think so, also the folate range wasn't 'built' for people who are taking B12 replacement therapies. We need more folate as we're using more up. My specialist wants my folate closer to 15 - 18 and moved me from every other day to every day to get me there. Whereas someone who isn't on B12 doesn't necessarily need that much.
