I am getting awful nerve pains/ shoooting pains in my private parts. I have B12 injections usually once a week but had two this week due to anxiety. Absolute agony and kept happening over and over. Is this B12 related?

nerve pain.
Hi Hectorsmum
So sorry to read your post as you must be in so much discomfort.
I did experience groin pain early on in my B12 treatment, left hand side dull ache and sharp pain. But it could be a urine infection too which coincides with an extra B12 jab. Could you get your urine tested?
For me, anxiety is a symptom of insufficient B12 so it may be worth you sticking at 2 jabs a week to see if the anxiety clears and the groin discomfort.
It may be worth checking cofactors and other vitamins such as folate, iron and vitamin D too as it they are not optimal than can reduce effectiveness of B12.
Hope you feel better soon.

This is a horrible symptom! I've had it in the past before diagnosis, but didn't realise the cause. It felt completely different from cystitis to me. I only used to experience it occasionally, and for a few seconds, but it took my breath away. And one can't exactly clutch it to ease the pain...Depending on how long you've been injecting, maybe it could be nerves waking up a bit from more frequent injection? I get randomly occurring nerve stabs all over, thankfully they don't seem to last long and I attribute them to nerve healing.
Hope this particular pain calms down for you soon.
thank you for kind reply and sympathy. I have been to the doctor and there seems to be somekind of skin infection which she thought might be a trigger for the nerve pain. I have to wait for swab results for treatment. It seems to have calmed down a bit for now.
Hi Hectorsmum
That resonates with me ... and makes me laugh at an experience I had.
I had excruciating pains emanating from my C-section scar line which was all inflamed and red and went to the GP. She said its just the scar healing .... what!!! I was 60 and the scar was 20 years old!!
I think it was a combo of B12 healing and possibly an infection too but I wasn't swabbed (old GP rarely did diagnostics) so I cleaned it regularly with Apple Cider Vinegar - whether it worked or not I don't know but it felt good and it did clear up and settle down.

I am not sure I am brave enough to put cider vinegar on it yet but thanks for the tip.. Nuts some of the things GPs say. I am thankfully in a very good GP surgery. They have their limits but are polite and kind and dont say to many stupid things.
Hi Hectorsmum
I wasn’t suggesting you try ACV as you seem to have a GP who is listening to you!
Let’s hope you can relax, pain and itch free over Christmas.

Colloidal silver spray is an excellent and gentle antimicrobial agent.
Hi MYC
I will look into this as I wasn't aware of it but I do use something similar on my donkeys and I have been known to use it myself! Is it light sensitive, the donkey product is.
🤶🤶🤶
Well if it's good enough for your donkeys...! 😁 The one I've used is a spray, in a dark glass bottle, and says to keep refrigerated or in a cool dark place. This is the brand I used
so sorry, this is awful. I’m wondering whether it could be down to menopause or peri-menopause. I struggled with these debilitating shooting pains many years ago, but one day they stopped. I had been suffering a lot of menopausal symptoms but kept being told that I wasn’t. A bout 4 years later I had changed dr’s and at 46 was told I was post menopausal. I’ve not had it since. Just a thought 🤷♀️😁
