Just wondering if anyone else has nerve pain across the top of the back. I've been suffering from This for about 4 weeks now (I've has épisodes like This before but not for This long). I recently persuaded my doctor to give me loading doses (I was already getting monthly injections) and I Wonder if the length of This attack has something to do with the treatment. I've has a week of Daily injections and two once a week injections. I'm less breathless and have a little more energy. Also the dépression has lifted, but This nerve pain is getting me down. Only hear seems to give me some relief. I can't tolerate oral medication.

correction: Only heat seems to relieve the pain!

May just be me but upper back pain tends for me to be the result of a virus.

The reaction to heat suggests that it is more likely to be muscular and the heat is helping the muscles to relax rather than any tissue damage.

Muscle tensing can be quite tricky to track down as it can be something that is happening because something isn't right somewhere else and the muscles throughout your body are trying to compensate.

chiropractor might be able to help but suggest you mention to your GP

thanks for the reply. The reason I think it's nerve related is That the pain tingles, like the nerve endings under my skin are irritated. Also I get pins and needles in m'y arms and hands while I'm experiencing This pain.

I have had this for months and have had CT, MRI, bone scan and more. Like you a hot bath helps a lot. I also get it in my chest too. They think it might be intercostal neuralgia and I’m on gabapentin. Only been on it a few days ( it can take a few weeks to work) and it seems to be helping.

It's really difficult for me to take oral medication due to the gastritis, which I think Is the source of the pain. Hope you get some relief. I've decided to eat Small amounts frequently.

I have nerve pain in my upper back tingles pins n needles and shaking of arms and hands,I've to go for neck scan to rule out anything sinister if not the sinister then that'll confirm it as carpal tunnel syndrome. Hope this helped? I wake up with it,its worse at night, and my shaking gives the old cup and saucer the rattling sound lol when I lift my tea,I also get jerking twitching motions.please keep us updated??and cooling the inflammation is preferred for carpal tunnel as its inflammation .
